Australian Government and the Department of Education: A Longstanding Partnership

Australia has been a partner of the Philippines in education for the last 70 years.

With the Department of Education (DepEd), Australia has been supporting basic education reforms with tangible learning benefits for Filipino children, setting them up to join the workforce and contribute to economic growth and nation building.

We value DepEd’s continued trust in the Australian Government’s development investments that have directly contributed to basic education reform initiatives, including on teacher professional development, curriculum enhancement, inclusive education, classroom construction, and education governance.

Australia stands side-by-side with DepEd, supporting its Sulong EduKalidad campaign to address the challenges in achieving universal quality basic education, and the implementation of its Learning Continuity Plan to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Australia looks forward to our continued partnership with the Philippines, working together in the spirit of mateship and bayanihan for the next 75 years and beyond.
