Australian Ambassador for Women and Girls The Hon Christine Clarke CSC visited Manila and Cebu to meet partners and discuss Australia’s long-standing development and law enforcement programs that have helped improve the lives of women and girls in the Philippines.
Ambassador Clarke met women officials advancing Australia and the Philippines’ Women, Peace and Security agenda. She also officiated the 2022 Women’s Empowerment Principles National Awards with the UN Women, to recognise the achievements of women leaders taking action for gender equality in their businesses; and visited women and girls assisted by the Australian Embassy through various development programs.
Ambassador Clarke delivered an address to women leaders recognised for their commitment and actions to advance gender equality in their businesses, at the 2022 Women Empowerment Principles Awards.

Ambassador Clarke with the teachers and students of Upper Bicutan National High School, a recipient of a 3-storey 12-classroom building provided by the Australian Government. The school promotes gender equality and non-discrimination in its provision of basic education.
