Australia’s partnership with the Philippines on training and education dates back to the 1950s. Since then, the Australian Government has provided scholarship opportunities to high-achieving Filipinos to study at Australian universities.

On their return from Australia, the Filipino scholars are encouraged to apply their learning to drive development and socio-economic change in their workplaces.

Alumni of Australian universities play an integral role in supporting the dynamic Philippines-Australia relationship. Many alumni have gone into significant roles in academe, politics, business and the arts.
