Australia Awards Scholarships equip Filipino leaders with skills, knowledge, and global connections to advance their career and make a difference in their communities and the lives of Filipinos.
During the time when availability of COVID-19 vaccine was a major challenge in the Philippines, Australia Awards alumna and Philippine Department of Health (DOH) Director Dr Maria Soledad Antonio worked to address vaccine shortage in the country by mobilising resources from international health partners. She now heads DOH’ Bureau of International Health Cooperation – the technical working group being consulted by the Philippine Government for the procurement and access of COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines.
